Ballywalter Park

Ballywalter Park is a mid-19th century house with a conservatory wing, set in grounds made of the two joined demesnes of Ballyatwood House and Springvale House. The grounds feature mature woodland and shelter trees with rides. There are maintained ornamental grounds with notable rhododendrons, a rock garden beside a stream, and a walled garden containing a cultivated rose garden. Other features include two ornamental bridges, a pigeon house and glasshouse. A significant Grade A listed housebuilt for the present owner's Great, Great, Great Grandfather between 1846 and 1850 to the designs of the distinguished artist, Sir Charles Lanyon. A conservatory and billard room wing, also by Lanyon, was added c.1870Pleasure grounds extend to c.30acres with a walled garden and an extensive rhododendron collection.Pick your own fruit and vegetables.
