The fishery is located within the former Creggan reservoir complex which comprises three former Water Service reservoirs in Creggan Country Park on the west side of Londonderry. It's regarded as one of the north-west's premier trout fisheries. It is stocked weekly and average size is around 2lb but trout to 13lb have been taken. The favourite areas include the Big island at the bottom corner, particularly the area towards the outflow, while the dam area in general seems to hold loads of fish. Equally good is the opposite corner at the feeder stream where a mixture of features tend to keep the fish within easy casting reach while the relative shallowness also makes it a productive area. The sedge fishing can be really good on summer evenings.
